Regular works at AFU halted for over a month
Chitwan, May 8:The Agriculture and Forest University (AFU) based in Rampur, Chitwan has witnessed obstruction of its regular operation over a month.
Regualr works including teaching and learning activity have been halted here after some agitating students misbehaved Assistant Dean of the Agriculture Faculty Bishnu Ojha on April 4.
According to Manaraj Kolakshyapati, Registrar of the AFU, the Democratic University Teachers Association has continued its protest demanding stern action against the unruly students involved in smearing black shoot on the face of the Dean.
The university professors have locked out the main office throwing the regular operation out of gear. It may be noted that the university had expelled six students involved in misbehaving the AFU officials for around two months.
Protesting the action, the ANNFSU had padlocked the university. Though ANNFSU withdrew its protest the Association did not let up the struggle citing weak action against the unruly students.
The political parties and University Teacher Association are regularly holding discussion to explore way out but in vain.
The regular operation including teaching learning has been affected in the university for over a year. The dispute was ensued when affiliation was granted to private colleges to run different programmes schools last year.
The university remained closed for over half of the time in the past one year.RSS
